Firefighter Certification
The Firefighter program prepares students for the physical and technical demands of the fire service. Through hands-on training, students develop fire suppression, rescue, and safety skills while operating in full protective gear in high-risk environments.
Requirements
This course is for Emergency Medical Technicians with a current NREMT certification who may be first on the scene of a hazardous materials emergency.
Students must register for all below courses in order to obtain a Firefighter Certification from CSI.
This class requires verification that you are a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen. Eligibility must be verified before the class begins.
Firefighter 1 with Lab
- This course is designed to train the student to the professional qualification level of Firefighter 1 as outlined in NFPA 1001 Professional Qualifications Standard.
- There is a lab requirement for this course that will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 pm to 5:50 pm.
- Students who register for this course are also required to register for the lab, Fire 2 and lab, and Hazmat course as part of the Firefighter certification.
Firefighter 2 with Lab
- This course is designed to train the student to the professional qualification level of Firefighter 2 as outlined in NFPA 1001 Professional Qualifications Standard.
- There is a lab requirement for this course that will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 pm am to 5:50 pm.
- Students who register for this course are also required to register for the Fire 1, Fire 1 lab and Fire 2 lab, and Hazmat courses as part of the Firefighter certification.
Hazardous Materials Awareness Operation
- After completion of this course students have the ability to identify hazardous materials and weapons of mass destruction. The ability to identify awareness-level personal and public protective actions.
- This course is taught throughtout the Fire 1 and Fire 2 programs.
- Students who register for this course are also required to register for the Fire 1, Fire 1 Lab, Fire 2, and Fire 2 Lab courses as part of the requirements for the Firefighter certification.
