Dental Assisting Level 3
Learning Outcomes
Students will dive deeper into their career learning in this last section of dental assisting. They will learn to safely administer nitrous oxide and calculate the amount given to the patient. They will also learn how to fabricate temporary crowns and bridges. The informational portion of this learning will take place online, while the hands-on practice will take place in the dental office of their employment.Eligibility Requirement

What’s Next?
After you complete Dental Assisting Level 3
- If you have met the minimum number of hours, take the NELDA (National Entry Level Dental Assistant) DANB examination (if you have not already)
- 2 years after you become certified with NELDA you may apply to take your CDA (Certified Dental Assistant)
Instructor Bio
Natasha Carl-Hawkins, CDA, CDIPC
Natasha graduated from CSI’s dental assisting program in 2009. In 2013, she became a certified dental assistant through the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB). In 2025, she received the Liz Kock scholarship through DANB. This scholarship granted her the ability to achieve certification for Dental Infection Prevention and Control. When she is not advancing her knowledge of the ever-changing dental field, she can be found assisting the dentist she has worked with for 16 years or instructing dental assisting students in the dental clinic at CSI.
