Learning Outcomes

Students will take the information they learned from Dental Assisting level 1 and apply it level 2. They will dive deeper into the career; learning how to take radiographs, perform a coronal polish, the specialties, instruments their dentists will use and how to mix the materials the dentists will need. Students will learn this information online and then use it in the office where they work for hands-on practice

Students who have completed level 1 and want to take their education to a further level of dental knowledge.

  • Work Force Dental Assisting Level 1
  • BLS training
  • Currently working in a dental office

What’s Next?

After you complete Dental Assisting Level 2

  • Take Dental Assisting Level 3
  • If you have met the minimum number of hours, take the NELDA (National Entry Level Dental Assistant) DANB examination
  • 2 years after you become certified with NELDA you may apply to take your CDA (Certified Dental Assistant)

Instructor Bio

Natasha Carl-Hawkins, CDA, CDIPC

Natasha graduated from CSI’s dental assisting program in 2009. In 2013, she became a certified dental assistant through the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB). In 2025, she received the Liz Kock scholarship through DANB. This scholarship granted her the ability to achieve certification for Dental Infection Prevention and Control. When she is not advancing her knowledge of the ever-changing dental field, she can be found assisting the dentist she has worked with for 16 years or instructing dental assisting students in the dental clinic at CSI.
