Learning Outcomes

Students will build on the knowledge gained in Dental Assisting Level 1 through advanced clinical and chairside training. Topics include dental radiography, coronal polishing, dental specialties, instrumentation, and dental materials. Online coursework is paired with hands-on practice in the student's dental office, allowing participants to apply new skills in a real-world setting. These competencies help prepare students for increased responsibilities and continued advancement in the dental assisting profession.

Dental Assisting Level 2 is designed for students who have completed Dental Assisting Level 1 and are ready to develop more advanced clinical skills. This course is ideal for individuals currently working in a dental office who want to expand their knowledge, gain hands-on experience, and continue progressing toward professional credentials and career growth.

Level 2 expands on foundational dental assisting skills through training in radiography, coronal polishing, dental materials, and specialty procedures. What's Next?

After completing Dental Assisting Level 2, students may:

  • Continue into Dental Assisting Level 3.
  • Pursue the NELDA (National Entry Level Dental Assistant) examination if eligible.
  • Continue gaining clinical experience in a dental office.
  • Build toward CDA (Certified Dental Assistant) certification through DANB.
  • Develop advanced skills that support long-term career growth in dental assisting.

Natasha Carl-Hawkins, CDA, CDIPC

A CSI Dental Assisting graduate, Natasha has 16 years of experience in the dental field and holds CDA and CDIPC certifications through DANB. She is passionate about preparing future dental assistants for successful careers through hands-on learning and real-world experience.
