Dental Assisting Level 1
Learning Outcomes
Students will build a solid foundation of dental knowledge, including the language and instruments. They will learn the skills necessary to monitor and comfort their patient’s dental anxiety while efficiently assisting a dentist.
Through this course, students will also learn to maintain the health and safety of themselves as well as the patient and maintain patient confidentiality

Who Should Attend?
Students who think they may be interested in joining a dental field. If you are not sure if you will enjoy dental hygiene, then assisting may be for you. If you already work in a dental office as an assistant but never received any professional training and want to take your career further.Dental Assisting Suggested Classes

Instructor Bio
Natasha Carl-Hawkins, CDA, CDIPC
Natasha graduated from CSI’s dental assisting program in 2009. In 2013, she became a certified dental assistant through the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB). In 2025, she received the Liz Kock scholarship through DANB. This scholarship granted her the ability to achieve certification for Dental Infection Prevention and Control. When she is not advancing her knowledge of the ever-changing dental field, she can be found assisting the dentist she has worked with for 16 years or instructing dental assisting students in the dental clinic at CSI.
