Description

This course offers the classroom portion of the Recovery Coach and Peer Recovery Coach Training. A recovery coach provides guidance and mentoring for people seeking or in recovery. The recovery coach also helps to remove barriers and obstacles while linking the recovering person to the recovery community.

Who Should Attend?

This course is open to anyone in the community interested in assisting people that are seeking or are in the recovery process.  Before being admitted to the course, all students must complete an enrollment application to the Academy.

Note: Peer recovery coach course attendees need to have two years of sobriety.

 

Walk Away With

Enrolling in the Academy is first step in the journey towards training, certification, ongoing support, and valuable networking with others serving as coaches throughout Idaho.

Students who successfully complete this training will have met the instructional course requirement to take the Certified Recovery Coach (CRC) certification through the Idaho Board of Alcohol/Drug Counselor Certification, Inc. (IBADCC). 

Note: In order to meet all of the requirements to take the CRC exam, students must also have a GED or high school diploma and complete the required 500 hours of practical clinical experience in addition to the required instructional hours.
