Health Initiatives at CSI
Dental Assisting Program
Currently in Phase 3, this initiative responds to a critical need in the Magic Valley for flexible, accessible training in dental assisting. With support from a Delta Dental grant, CSI is developing an online curriculum that allows students to work as Dental Assistants while completing their education.
- Level 1 launches November 1st
- Levels 2 and 3 will be completed by end of November
Long-Term Care / Skilled Nursing Talent Pipeline
Now in Phase 4, this initiative has seen strong success. High school CNA cohorts in Jerome and Burley have completed:
- CNA Certification
- Assistance with Medications
- Advanced CNA Training
We are actively expanding these opportunities to five additional high schools across Idaho.
Additionally, we are developing a Psychiatric Technician Capstone Course for high school seniors, currently in Phase 3.
CNA Re-entry to Workforce
Also in Phase 4, this effort enhances our CNA Skills Refresher offerings:
- Free Option: Online access to skills videos and quizzes
- Paid Option: A 4-hour hands-on session with a CSI CNA instructor
EMS Talent Pipeline
FIRE 1 Certification Pathway
- In Phase 3, CSI is building a non-credit workforce pathway for students to earn their Fire 1 certification, which includes HAZMAT training. Once an instructor is secured, this program will launch to prepare students for entry into the Fire Program.
Phlebotomy Talent Pipeline
High School Expansion
- In Phase 1, CSI is responding to growing interest from high schools to offer phlebotomy training as a post-CNA option. We are currently engaging with industry partners to assess clinical capacity for these programs.
CSI Program Expansion
- Also in Phase 1, CSI is exploring ways to meet high demand for phlebotomy training. However, limited clinical partnerships remain a challenge to scaling the program.

School 2 Industry Collaborative
The School 2 Industry Collaborative is currently in Stage 1 of the Talent Pipeline Management (TPM) process. This initiative is designed to create a seamless bridge between education and employment by aligning student preparation with industry needs.
“The School 2 Industry Collaboration bridges the gap between education and the workforce by fostering meaningful partnerships between schools and local industries. Our mission is to prepare students for successful careers through real-world experiences, skill development, and career exploration opportunities that align with current and future workforce needs.”
