Description

Mental Health First Aid: Building Stronger People, Workplaces, and Communities
Mental health challenges affect every part of our lives—at work, at home, and in the communities, we belong to. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an evidence-based training that empowers everyday people to recognize signs of mental health challenges and respond with confidence, compassion, and practical support. Just like physical first aid, MHFA equips individuals with the tools to help before a situation becomes a crisis.

What Will I Learn?

  • Increased awareness and early recognition
    • Participants learn how to spot early warning signs of stress, burnout, anxiety, depression, and substance use challenges—often before performance or wellbeing are seriously impacted.
  • Having the confidence to have supportive conversations
    • MHFA provides practical guidance on how to approach a colleague with concern, listen non-judgmentally, and offer reassurance without overstepping boundaries.
  • Reducing stigma in the workplace
    • When employees are educated about mental health, conversations become more open and stigma decreases, making it easier for people to seek help when they need it.
  • Supporting productivity and retention
    • A mentally healthy workplace leads to better engagement, lower absenteeism, and a culture where people feel valued and supported—not just for their work, but as human beings.

Who Should Attend?

This comprehensive course is open to all community members seeking to deepen their understanding of mental health and develop practical skills for identifying and assisting individuals in need.

What Will You Walk Away With?

Participants will walk away with a 2 year-Cerification issued from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.
