This course serves as an introductory and intermediate course to GMAW and FCAW processes. You will learn the theory of and the techniques needed to properly set up and use GMAW and FCAW welding equipment safely. You will weld the common joints found in the welding industry, in all positions using solid and flux cored wires.

With welders retiring at twice the pace of new welders coming into the field, it is anticipated that in the years to come there will be a need for 310,000 replacement and new positions. Grow your current skillset through this 30-hour training that focuses on GMAW and FCAW welding.

This course is open to anyone 16+.

We will be providing all curriculum, material, and supplies for you. Please remember we will also provide all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), however you will in fact need to wear close toed shoes and safe clothing without hanging belts, chains etc. that may be caught upon equipment.

Instructor Bio

Scott Price brings a unique talent and skill set to the Workforce Development & Training team. Scott is a graduate of Wyo-Tech and received his degrees in training in automotive, street rod, and chassis fabrication. He is licensed as an ASE Certified Technician with 3 years of experience as a technician with Chevrolet. Scott has had 8 years of experience as a service advisor, 18 months as an auto body shop manager, and two years of experience as a service manager. Scott grew up in Union City, California and has a love for bikes and cars and it is his passion. He has been in Twin Falls, Idaho for 13 years and enjoys outdoor adventures such as camping, hiking, and all things water sports.
