Description

Mental Health Technicians assist patients who suffer from a variety mental impairments like dementia. They work under the direction of a licence provider or nurse in a variety of health care settings.

What will I learn?

This program develops entry level care givers by providing them with basic understanding and skills needed to help assist patients that suffer from mental impairments. Students are taught the necessary skills and knowledge to identify behaviors and implement interventions that minimize adverse behavior while still maintaining patient dignity and well being.

Walk Away With

Participants that successfully complete this program will receive a Mental Health First Aid Certificate through the National council for Mental Wellbeing and are eligible to take the Mental Health Technician Exam through the AAPTC.

Who Should Attend?

This is for anyone who is interested in working in the medical field and wanting to work with patients who suffer from Mental help or Dementia disorders.

Prerequisite is a current C.N.A. certification and completion of the Advanced C.N.A. course
