
Eight (72 hour) semesters of related training, plus 8,000 hours of documented work experience.
Classes are held on the campus of the College of Southern Idaho (Twin Falls, Idaho), and Wood River High School (Hailey, Idaho). The work experiences are at various job sites for the practical portion of the training.
To have the classes count toward the State of Idaho's Requirements for Apprenticeship training, you must meet the following requirements:
Classes are three(3) hours per evening, two(2) nights per week, for a minimum period of twelve(12) weeks each semester. Classes will vary as to which evenings they are held depending on the location and the year level of apprentice.

The apprenticeship course is designed to provide related training in the HVAC trade that will give students the proper course work in safety, Code and a knowledge of the trade. Completion must be documented each year with the State of Idaho Division of Building Safety, HVAC Bureau, 334-6180..
The State of Idaho offers correspondence training in Electrical, HVAC, and Plumbing Apprenticeship through Boise State University. Certain qualifications must be met for a person to take correspondence as opposed to the regular training. The main criteria needing to be met is the student must live at least 50 miles from the CSI Twin Falls and Hailey classes. Other special circumstances may also be considered.
